Frequently asked questions

Answers before you order, not after.

Replacement lamps for diagnostic instruments are not interchangeable. These are the questions clinics ask most often — and if yours isn't here, send us your device model and we'll answer it directly.

Fitment and compatibility

Getting the right part number the first time.

How do I know which replacement bulb fits my instrument?

Send us the make and model number printed on your instrument head and we'll confirm the correct part number before you order. Diagnostic instrument lamps are not interchangeable — two instruments that look alike from the outside can take different lamps — so checking the model first is the reliable way to avoid ordering the wrong part. You can reach us by phone, email or WhatsApp, or through the contact form.

Which part numbers does ELVION cover?

ELVION supplies replacement bulbs matched to six diagnostic instrument model numbers: 03000-U, 03100-U, 03400-U, 03800-U, 03900-U and HPX06500. The full list is on the available models section of the shop page.

Why does the correct bulb matter for a diagnostic exam?

A lamp matched to the instrument's voltage and fitment holds consistent brightness and colour through an examination. That consistency is what lets a clinician judge what they're looking at from one patient to the next. A mismatched lamp may sit incorrectly in the housing or produce inconsistent illumination — which turns exam-room lighting into a variable rather than something you can rely on.

Specifications

What you're actually getting.

What are the bulb specifications?

The bulb is a 3.5V halogen lamp intended for Welch Allyn® diagnostic instrument heads, supplied in bend-back-to-open blister packaging. Full specifications are listed on the shop page.

How are the bulbs packaged?

Each bulb is supplied in bend-back-to-open blister packaging. The pack protects the glass envelope in transit and opens without tools or scissors — useful when you're replacing a lamp between patients rather than at a workbench.

Is ELVION made by Welch Allyn®?

No. ELVION is an independent supplier of compatible replacement bulbs. Welch Allyn® is a registered trademark of its respective owner, and ELVION is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by them. Our bulbs are described as compatible with those instruments — they are not original manufacturer parts, and we don't present them as such.

Ordering

How to buy, and how to ask first.

Where do I buy ELVION replacement bulbs?

Orders are placed and fulfilled through the ELVION storefront on Amazon, where current pricing is shown.

Can I order more than a few bulbs at once?

Yes. For multi-unit or clinic-level quantities, contact us directly and we can help with the order rather than having you work through a standard listing.

Can you help me choose before I order?

That's the part we'd rather you use. Send the device model and we'll confirm the fitment — it takes a message, and it's considerably less trouble than returning a lamp that was never going to fit. If you're unsure where to find the model number, describe the instrument and we'll help you locate it.
